REAL LIFE DEXTER MURDER

“For 7,826 days, 3 hours and 22 minutes, the location of Tina’s remains has been a mystery,” Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke said in a news release Friday. “Over the course of the last week, we have finally been able to give her family what they so desperately wanted.”

The critically acclaimed Showtime show Dexter, which follows the life of a serial killer who works for the police department, many various ways to get away with real life murder are revealed. Until recently, however, none of them have rung as close to home as the case involving John Sandoval who killed his wife, then hid her body unknowingly in the cemetery.

John Sandoval, 52, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison and five years on parole for his role in the 1995 death of Kristina Tournai-Sandoval, the Denver Post reported.

As part of a plea deal, Sandoval told investigators March 22 that Kristina’s remains were buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery in Greeley.

In season three of the show, a murder is depicted by a warped prosecutor and friend of Dexter to almost a tee as the one described. Even though the case is came long before this reported murder it is curious that the mode of disposing a person underneath another person being buried would occur.

As Sandoval has been convicted of stalking other women, it is scary to wonder if there are more crowded graves elsewhere.
